Breeders Cup betting ends on Saturday night, but those players can get on horsepower action of another kind as the Chase for the Sprint Cup heads to Texas Motor Speedway for the AAA Texas 500. There are only three races left until a champion is crowned, and you can expect fireworks at this fast 1.5-mile track.

Carl Edwards (+700): Edwards has an eight-point lead in the standings after a ninth-place finish at Martinsville that he has to work hard for, and now you’ve have to say that he’s the price per head favorite to win it all. He leads all drivers with three wins at this track, and he finished third here in the spring.

Tony Stewart (+700): Stewart won for the third time in the Chase at Martinsville and made some bold proclamations after the race, so he’ll have to back it up now as one of the pay per head favorites at Texas. He won the fall race here in 2006, and he finished 12th here in the spring, leading 12 laps. No one is hotter in the Sprint Cup series, but “Smoke” needs Edwards to have a bad day to cut into his points lead.

Matt Kenseth (+700): Kenseth’s 9.0 average in 18 starts here is the best among active drivers, and he had the field covered in a dominant spring performance, leading 169 laps en route to the checkered flag. He was taken out of the championship picture after tangling with Brian Vickers at Martinsville, but he feels like he has nothing to lose now and a good sportsbook review will tell you how dangerous that is.

Kevin Harvick (+1000): Harvick also has nothing to lose, although he is in third, 21 points behind Edwards. It’s make or break time for the No.29 driver, whose 12.9 average in 17 starts at Texas is fourth among active drivers, but he finished a disappointing 20th in the spring. Look for Harvick to go all out this weekend, although that’s not much of a difference from any other time he jumps into his Chevy.

Denny Hamlin (+1200): Hamlin really has nothing to lose, sitting at 11th in the standings, and he swept the 2010 races at Texas. He finished 15th in the fall, but he has three top-10s in a row and was one of the best cars of the day at Martinsville, a place he usually dominates. Even though he is out of the championship, Hamlin would love to win a race to show that he is going to be a factor for next year, and they may even try new things, so he could be a solid pick to make before you check the day’s NFL schedule.
