It’s no BetOnline scam to see Tiger Woods at the top of the list of favorites for the Chevron World Challenge at Sherwood Country Club in California, as he is the host of the event and has won the event four times. His performance at the Presidents Cup has some thinking that he’s getting closer and closer to a win and he, along with four other players, are worth a look.
Tiger Woods (+275): As was mentioned before, four-time winner Woods is the favorite in this event and a Wagerweb review would tell you that the former No.1 knows this course as well as anyone. He clinched the Presidents Cup for the United States in his singles match against Aaron Baddeley, a match in which he finally made some putts, but Woods struck the ball as well as he has since his spectacular fall from the top spot.
Dustin Johnson (+1200): Johnson was paired with Woods on the Saturday of the Presidents Cup and proved to be an excellent foil for Woods as the pair won one of their two foursomes matches, although he did lose his singles match to Masters champion Charl Schwartzel. Johnson’s length off the tee makes him a price per head threat at any course, and as per usual with Johnson, if his putter is working, watch out.
Jim Furyk (+1400): Furyk was the star of the Presidents Cup as he claimed five points, winning all five of his matches, and after a shaky 2011 season, a strong ending could build his confidence for 2012. Furyk also won this event in 2009, so he should be comfortable at Sherwood.
Keegen Bradley (+1800): Some pay head players think that Bradley, the PGA Championship winner, should have been named to the Presidents Cup team over Woods and now he’ll get a chance to show why he is one of the top up-and-comers to watch in 2012. He’s steady from tee to green and obviously doesn’t back down from pressure situations. A good showing at Sherwood will prove that Bradley belongs with the elite and that he isn’t a flash in the pan.
Bubba Watson (+2000): Watson was also on the Presidents Cup team and he won three of his four foursomes matches, although he lost his singles match. Like Johnson and even Woods still, Watson’s biggest strength is his length, but he has worked extremely hard to improve his irons and putting. Now he is a threat every time he tees it up and he would love a win, especially one hosted by his frequent practice partner, Woods. Don’t be afraid to take a chance on Watson in your sports betting book.
