Breeders Cup betting is about to get heavy, but the golf season is coming to a close with the final World Golf Championship event, the HSBC Champions at Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai. You can attack this course as Francesco Molinari’s -19 winning score shows, and with no cut line, players can take chances.

Rory McIlroy (+450): Wagerweb reviews may lean towards the U.S. Open champion, who has finished in the top three in his last three starts, including a playoff win last week, also in Shanghai. The 22-year-old has had an amazing a year and he would love to cap it with back-to-back victories. There may not be a hotter player in the world right now. Did we mention he finished solo fifth here last year?

Lee Westwood (+800): Westwood finished a shot behind Molinari last year, and price per head players watched the Englishman finished fifth at the Shanghai Masters. He also finished T-2 at Sheshan in 2008, and Westwood seems to have a good eye for this course. If he can pick up from his final-round 67 last year, Westwood will be a threat.

Francesco Molinari (+2500): Molinari also shot 67 on the final day last year and if Westwood wouldn’t have kept pace, he would have beaten the field by 10 shots. Of course, he hasn’t won a tournament since then, but the younger Molinari finished T-10 in Spain last week and he’ll hope to carry some of that momentum over to China, where he should have some good memories from 2010.

Bo Van Pelt (+3000): BVP rolled to a six-shot win in Malaysia last week as he tees it up at this event for the first time, and your price per head bookie always likes a player who can get hot. Van Pelt is the epitome of a streaky golfer and he nailed 25 birdies last week, shooting a final-round 64 to seal the deal in Malaysia. If the putter stays hot, look out.

K.J. Choi (+3000): Choi, from South Korea, is always a threat in Asia and right now he is on a roll. A T-7 at the Shanghai Masters was his fifth top-10 in a row, and even though he hasn’t finished in the top 10 in this event since a T-9 in 2007, you have to ride a player while he is hot. Choi is steady and after some early-season struggles, he is looking to finish 2011 with a bang, which would give him some momentum for 2012. With the crowd support that he’ll get some the gallery and the way he has been playing, Choi is definitely a player to watch for Intertops betting players.
