Toronto Raptors fans probably wouldn’t lay a wager on their team to win the NBA title as their team is still in the middle of the rebuilding process, but there are plenty of other options if they’re planning on making a bet for the championship. Here are the five best picks to consider.
Miami (+210): The Heat nearly won it all last year despite having so many distractions, and their odds for this season are no BetOnline scam; they’ve added veteran leadership and defense with Shane Battier, and hopefully, Mike Miller can stay healthy. But most of their hopes hinge on Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh, specifically James, who didn’t play well in the Finals loss to Dallas.
Chicago (+600): The Bulls re-signed MVP Derrick Rose to a five-year deal, and those that use price per head bookmaking services know Chicago is going to go only as far as the hometown hero takes them. That being said, the Bulls are putting a lot of faith in Richard Hamilton, whose time in Detroit finally came to an end and Chicago hopes that he’ll space the floor for Rose. Carlos Boozer will also be a key.
Oklahoma City (+650): The Thunder have to sort one thing out, and then they’ll probably win the Western Conference: can Russell Westbrook put his ego to the side and realize that he is the Robin to Kevin Durant’s Batman? It didn’t look promising in the playoffs last season as Westbrook took a lot of shots, although Durant was being watched closely. The relationship between these young stars will be the key to Oklahoma City’s season.
Dallas (+800): From those that purchase price per head software to casual fans, no one gave Dallas much of a chance against the Heat in the Finals, but Dirk Nowitzki probably clinched his spot in the Hall of Fame with a dazzling performance that showed he was even a clutch player. However, they’ll need more than Nowitzki’s shooting to repeat. Specifically, the Mavericks have to find a way to replace Tyson Chandler’s defense in the post.
Los Angeles Clippers (+1500): With Kobe Bryant battling age and a wrist injury, a possibly unhappy duo of Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum, and the Lakers having to get used to new coach Mike Brown, there is no better time for the Clippers to move up in the City of Angels. Chris Paul and Blake Griffin may remind some of “NBA Jam”, but the franchise has never been known for having good fortune. Forces off the court and outside the realm of basketball may be what throws the Clippers off track and ruins their chances in your online sports book.
