Even some Winnipeg Jets fans are excited for the NBA lockout to be over, and that means it’s time to start looking at some props, such as the scoring race. Here is a look at five players who have a chance to lead the league in scoring, and just to clarify: LeBron James (+275) and Dwyane Wade (+650) are both options, but with Chris Bosh also on the team, there isn’t enough to go all the way around.

Kevin Durant (+175): Durant has won the last two scoring titles, but some Bet Online players are skeptical of this pick as we saw Durant struggle in Oklahoma City’s playoff exit against Memphis. It didn’t help that point guard Russell Westbrook took far too many shots, but we expect Durant to come out with a lot of fire in the regular season and be a prime contender to win his third title.

Carmelo Anthony (+425): Anthony was third in the league in scoring while splitting time between Denver and New York, and price per head bookmaking companies that set the lines know that the Knicks’ odds aren’t predicated on their defense; they’re going to run, run and run some more. Even though Amare Stoudemire is on the team, Anthony will get his fair share and he may be the best pure scorer in the league.

Kobe Bryant (+550): Bryant played hurt for most of last season, and the lockout may have been more beneficial to him than anyone. He also knows that he doesn’t have much time left, and the Lakers’ sweep at the hands of Dallas stings. Bryant has never met a shot that he didn’t like, and the two-time scoring leader will have full license to fire away.

Derrick Rose (+725): Unless the Bulls get some scoring help for Rose, the reigning MVP should improve on his seventh-place result in last season’s scoring race. He’s only going to get better as he just turned 23 years old, and Rose is a humble enough player that he’s going to continue to work hard. Those who rely on price per head tools know that Chicago’s chances depend on the improvement of their MVP.

Dirk Nowitzki (+1800): Nowitzki’s Mavericks surprised everyone to win the title, but they feel like they’re not get the respect they deserve as many think that Miami lost the title, and the lockout took the shine off their win as well. Nowtizki is 33 years old and like Bryant, he’s on the downside of his career, but he was the best player in last year’s playoffs (by a mile) and he is very deserving of some consideration for the scoring title in your best online sportsbook.
