Rejuvenated Barton Gets Newcastle Out of Bottom Three
In just his first matchafter being released from prison, Joey Barton helped Newcastle to move out of the relegation zone defeating West Bromwich Albion 2-1. The League match took place in St. James' Park yesterday, where rejuvenated Barton scored a penalty in the 10th minute right after Ryan Donk's foul on Shola Ameobi. Striker Obafemi Martins headed in Habib's Beye's pass in the 42nd minute to give the home team a 2-0 lead. Ishmael Miller scored one back for West Brom after 65 minutes. Newcastle are finally out of the relegation zone, sitting at sixth from bottom with 9 points.
